Amazon now hosts a dedicated two-day sale for pets every spring — that would be Amazon Pet Day — but its flagship Prime Day sale presents another great opportunity to score deals on gear and toys for your fluffy, furry, and feathery friends. Below, we're keeping a running list of the very best pet deals we've been able to find on Amazon ahead of its big savings event (which is scheduled for July 11 and 12 this year).
A quick note that this is a category in which Amazon tends to engage in a lot of price anchoring, making discounts seem better than they really are, so we've cross-checked all listings with manufacturers' websites. Out of all the automatic litter boxes we've looked into, the Petkit PuraX is the best one for skittish cats: "Its ergonomic shape more closely follows the traditional enclosed litter box that fraidy cats may find more approachable, with a flat top for potential storage or cat naps," writes Mashable senior shopping reporter Leah Stodart. Controlled via a mobile app (with multiple cleaning modes), it features a built-in deodorizing system and a large, seven-liter waste container that can fit cats up to 18 pounds. Amazon currently has it on sale for $449 (normally $799), which is $50 lower than its price last Prime Day.
