Prime events are Amazon's favorite excuse to discount its own devices, so expect no shortage of spicy smart home deals during Prime Day on July 11 and 12.

In fact, in true Amazon fashion, many devices are already seeing steep discounts (hello, record-cheap Kindle Paperwhite Kids) weeks ahead of the actual event. Most of the brand's smart home gadgets — Alexa-enabled speakers, displays, and more — have yet to get the early Prime Day treatment. But don't worry; we'll keep you updated when it happens.

Meanwhile, deals on smart home gadgets from other brands like Google, Philips Hue, Govee, Arlo, and Belkin are starting to trickle in. You can expect even more to join the fray once the sale officially begins at 3 a.m. EDT on July 11. Stay tuned.

Below, we've rounded up the very best smart home deals we could find ahead of Prime Day 2023. Remember to check back often, as we'll be updating this page regularly.

Our top pick

Why we like it

Released in 2022, the 5th Gen Echo Dot Kids is the kiddo version of Amazon's powerful smart speaker. It basically does everything the regular Echo Dot can do, but also has parental controls and filters to keep things PG for your little ones. The speaker comes in an adorable owl or dragon design, with a free one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, and with Alexa on board. Kids can ask Alexa to play their favorite songs, read them a bedtime story, help them with homework, and more. Amazon is currently offering the speaker for just $27.99 ahead of Prime Day — that's 53% off and its lowest price to date.
